OUR PEOPLE
The Minds Behind Dailies Token
Born from the tradition of film dailies, the raw, uncut reels revealing a story in motion, we approach each day as a creative iteration in the art of production. Each reel is a snapshot of discovery, a work in progress. We carry that spirit forward, refining, experimenting, and advancing the creative process. It's about progress: one frame, one cut, one idea at a time.

Synopsis:
Liberty Blue is a hybrid documentary that explores the enigmatic life and artistic legacy of Canadian painter Michelle Cooney through her evocative alter ego, Liberty Blue, both muse and mirror to a lifetime shaped by mental illness, creativity, and identity. Shot on 16mm and iPhone, the film blends vérité moments, archival interviews, and poetic reenactments to offer a fragmented yet deeply personal cinematic experience.
Filmed across Montreal, Toronto, and Miami, the documentary spans decades of footage, interweaving candid conversations with family, friends, and fellow artists. The result is a fearless meditation on artistic expression as a lifeline, a visual diary that confronts the realities of trauma while honoring the fierce creative force at the heart of Michelle’s journey.
Reenactments are drawn from Michelle’s own journals and sketchbooks, brought to life by a rotating cast of performers who interpret her memories through painting, voice, and physical movement. These expressive sequences transcend conventional biography, transforming the film into a living archive of emotion and embodiment.
Currently in post-production, Liberty Blue has been made possible through the support of the National Film Board of Canada, Deluxe Toronto, and Michelle Cooney herself, whose personal contributions reflect the urgency and intimacy of the story being told.
This is not simply a portrait of an artist, it is a visual elegy to the endurance of creative spirit in the face of inner storms. Liberty Blue stands as a cinematic testament to the radical act of making art not in spite of pain, but because of it, a love letter to expression as survival, and to the women who make themselves seen.
